I recently rebuilt the engine in my 1999 2x4 Ranger it has a 2.5L and a 4 speed automatic. The one piece I am having problems with is the metal transmission lines that run up to the radiator. I remember removing a metal clip that holds the lines together and I presume prevents them from vibrating and moving around. I do not remember where that clip mounts. I have looked under the truck a few times and I am unable to figure it out. I would really appriciate it if someone could tell me where this clip mounts or look on their own rig and help me figure it out.

Thank you very much.

Did it go on one of the bolts for the oilpan?

I do not recall

One thing I do remember was that it was preventing us from pulling the engine. Next time the tranns is comming out at the same time. After I disconnected the clip the engine was free. It is not clear in my memory because both of my sons were under the truck at one time and I was in and out and up and down looking form the one thing that was holding things up.

found a pic!
