I just bought some MAF meter cleaner from Murrays Auto made by CRC. You disconnect the air hose from the air filter box and spray down the internal sensor with this special cleaner. Evidently it gets dirty over time and a good cleaning helps it to do its job better. Special MAF cleaner - no carb cleaner - and no touching the sensor, just spray the shit out if it and let it air dry. Also since the air hose is off take a look at the throttle body interior and see if it's all carboned up, should not be black. They make a special cleaner for that also. It has to say "For Throttle Body Cleaning" on it because the interior has a special coating you don't want to take off.
