Hi Guy's n Gals!
I am actually new but trying to help a friend out at the same time. I have plenty of motor experience but tranny's are my weak area (AND HIS! unfortunately). He has a 95 Ranger 6 cyl with 4wd. He says he was in 4wd going uphill after it clunked/grinded and quit moving. He put it back in 2wd and all is good. I'm thinking transfer case problem more likely than engagement issue huh? Was working good before it "let go". Whatcha think? What should we start looking at/testing? Is there a common problem on these? I have scoured the threads for quite awhile but nothing really fits short of AVM conversion.....not a fan of that thought yet.
What's your favorite year for a Ranger BTW? Thinking about looking for one to add to the F150, '69 Cougar, 2005 500 fleet......young guy needs a first vehicle and I'm looking at a few. Thanks for the input!
