I own a 2008 FX4 ranger with torsion bar leveling. I just purchased a new set of rims and tires. The rims are American Eagle baja's with 4.5" backspacing. the tires I purchased are 265/75R-16 Cooper STT's. I've had this same tire on (3) other vehicles. This is the first set that is E rated. Cooper only makes the 265/75R-16 in 10 ply. They discontinued there 8 ply in that size. I have tried adjusting air pressure from what the installing shop put in (40 psi) down to about 30 psi. My truck still rides REALLY ROUGH. Is this something I will have to live with, or is there anything else I can try to help the ride? I'm not expecting a caddy ride, I just can't believe my ranger has to ride rougher than my lifted 03' jeep with basically the same size tire and lift.

There's your answer right there. E-rated tires are for like, F-350's. Yes they are that stiff. On a Ranger you could probably let all the air out and they still wouldn't be flat.

Lower the pressure some more or buy new shocks. I used to have an '02 Ranger Off-Road, effectively the same truck you have, and with the off-road shocks it rode like a cement mixer and that was with the stock tires.
I'd say sell the tires while they're like new and buy some Bridgestone Dueler REVO's in a P265/75-16. Trust me on that.
