4.0L to 3.0L Bellhousing

Are the bellhousings for an 2001 - 2002 automatic transmission the same for the 4.0L V6 and 3.0L V6? I'm selling a 2001 5R55E from a 4.0L and the guy want to put it behind his 2002 3.0L. Thanks.
 
No, the 3.0 had its own bellhousing.
 
BUT, with the automatics they had a removable bell housing so he could swap his 3.0 bell housing onto your transmission.
 
Another question, will the computer be compatible for this swap? Are the harness plugs the same? I'm not sure what's behind a 3.0L but willit have the same hookups as the 5R55E?
 
You might need to check the transmission harness. I don't think a 5R55E was ever put behind a 3.0.

The PCM would probably have to be reflashed by a dealer so it would show a 3.0 with a 5R55E since that wasn't a factory option.
 
any word on this? does anyone know if he was able to swap it over?
