im not to good with 4x4's, but i found a ranger thats a 4x4 2.3L engine for 1800$ and im woundering if its worth turboing it. Is it even worth putting a turbo on a 4x4 instead of a 2wd. If worth it is it the same process of installing it. What do stock 4x4 turbo rangers run in 1/4 mile. Could u still haul around a camper with a turbo? Its a 5 speed manual.

I don"t think there is such a thing as a stock turbo ranger.

you can get a merkur engine or mustang 2.3 turbo engine and its just a bolt in and you can make really good power with em

a 2.3 4x4 is a rare find! you should get it! A turbo would be fun. just be sure to keep the air filter fresh if you plan on using it for a toy in the dirt :D

soo even if its turbo'd i can still have some fun in the dirt as long as i keep the filter clean.

theres always a risk of destroying the turbo, but what's the fun of playing it safe all the time? :) and as much as i like K&N filters everyone says they pass more dirt so stick with the paper filter to be safe.

How hard is the installation of a turbo.

check the tech library and ask around the forced induction forums, there is a lot of information regarding the swap on this site.
