Ok, have a '96 2wd ranger 2.3. Currently has 3.45's installed. Going to buy 4.10s but need some advice. First, I'm stuck between Motive Gears and Richmond. I've heard that Motive aren't a great build quality, and Richmonds wine. Is either true, I prefer Richmonds but I'll listen to any suggestions. Also, Will the complete ring and pinion install kit from richmond do? ie http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_14676_-1
Finally, I plan on putting a good old T-Lok in. I've searched a while and does 200 bucks sound about right for a new one?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've always heard good about yukon gears. Or you could just swap and axle in that has 4.10's already. 4.10's came in quite a few stock rangers. Check your junkyards? It'll be less time consuming and most likely less expensive in the long run.

I plan on buying all new. Just don't have the time to go to the yards; its my grad present so I figured I'd go new anyways. I'm also having it done through a good shop I know around town.

My brother put 4.10's in his 96 'stang and had to get a new trans speed sensor. Do I have to do the same in my ranger?
