i grinded reverse so bad thyat my tranny wouldnt go in 5th gear and woulnt stay in reverse. i took the top off and look inside. the gears and syncros look fine. i think the damage is in the back of the tranny where 5th and reverse are. i think the locking mechanism is bad and im not sure what else. but im going to tear it down and see what the damage is. also does anyone have the parts i may need or a tranny that the reverse and 5th are still good in and how much am i looking at top fix it. i will do all the repair work.
the tranny is a mazda tranny out of a 1990 ranger 2wd 4 cylinder 2.3L 2 wheel drive. Please let me know how much parts will cost. i may also need the piece that i unbolted. it has like 8 bolts or so and it has the shifter mechanism. it is about a foot long and it bolted directly on top the tranny. I just want prices and info.
