Bedside installation how to's??

Okay i give up. I've been searching all morning for some kind of how to on installing ranger fiberglass bedsides. I have a general idea of whats involved but a picture says a 1000 words. Are there any sites out there that have done an in depth write up about this???:dunno: I have an 03 if that makes a difference. Thanks

why not just pull the factory bed sides out?

sorry, i tried researching for you and came up with nothing. but its fairly easy.

just remove the spot welds that on the inside of the bed rails and on the cab side of the bed. that should be the hardest part. and then see what else is holding the besides to the bed and either unscrew it up grind it off. then just mount the new bedside and bolt it to the bed and install your lights.

or if youre ordering your bedsides from a company, ask then for installation instructions

yeah I did mine with the box off in about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs, I wasnt concerned about the old boxsides so I was a bit destructive taking them off, if yours are in good shape take your time selling them will offset the cost of the new ones. A $20 spotweld cutter and a few hrs is all it really takes

Lol yea the bedsides on my truck dont have a scratch or a spot of rust so im going to take my time. Do you remember what size spot weld cutter you used?

ahhh i might be wrong but im pretty sure it was 5/16. dont forget to put some paint on any bare metal before you put the fiberglass ones on, just a little preventative maintanance

3 hours is good time!!

there are tons of spot weld's along the rails, and behind the cab.hand full behind the tail lights as well as the gas door area.Split the inner fender form the bed tub and bedside. small grider, cutting wheel works good.

conduit works good for the fender support's infornt and behind the wheel. Dont let the fenders just flap you will end up with little strees cracks. cold wet, frozen places this could leed to issue's if they get bad. water seeps in to the "fiber",freezes, expands, cracks.....

first time around, set aside a weekend to do it, if your trying to keep the stock bedsides nice during the removel.
