4wd trans into 2wd

I have a 93 4.0L 5spd 2wd ranger and the salvage yards around me only have the 4wd transmissions. Can I take the transfer case off a 4wd and put my old 2wd tail cone on and should i replace the input shaft bearing while im at it? What years and models can I get a transmission from that will swap right in, I dont want to do any modifications.

You would also need to swap the output shaft, which involves basically disassambling the entire transmission and putting it back together. You'd be better off finding a 2wd transmission. Any trans off another 4.0 2wd will fit without modifications.
