I was looking for an axle truss for one or the other Dana 28/35. I am planning on jumping a 1988 Bronco 2 as a tuff truck. I have the stock axles and also a 92 Explorer donor for the axles. I have a spare Dana 28 from another Bronco. Trying to keep the costs down and do have access to a sheet metal shop and welder.
Looking for any suggestions you have tried and if they worked or not.
Thanks!

It can definitely be done. CopyKat here on the forum did a set and they turned out nicely:

Axle truss for a Dana 28 & Dana 35

I've seen both crbunit and compleckz crack their beams from just off-road abuse.

I'm sure if this thing was going to be jumped and ran hard, he'd want to reinforce it somehow.

both beams are prone to cracking and bending.

the passenger side, short beam will crack/tear where the beam is no longer "boxed" in. boxing it in helps prevent this.

and the driver side is known to bend from the diff in towards the piviot.so ethier a truss on the front side or plating in the back side helps again.

the outter ends, out past th radius arms can bend also with really hard use as well.

Also welding up all the seams is not a bad ideal ethier for hard use...air borne tactics and such.

Thanks for the help. I'll certainly do something to reinforce the beams. Once I get them done this summer I'll post some pics and how it worked.
Thanks again
