Alright i got some questions. First of all, has anyone out there been able to mod their ranger to run a solid axle from an 80's 1/2 ton gm product? Im debating pullin the drivetrain an goin bowtie simply b/c i have a set of gm axles, a fresh 383 and a four speed saginaw with a np205 transfer case...Would it be worth it?

My credo
it is easier to fix and understand than "her"
assuming you have a stock powertrain it could involve exaust reroute and custom t case adapter.

what powertrain do you have? if your running the 383 then just install it all and get it awwn

That is a BIG project. you would be changing to a passenger side drop ( I think) not to mention tackling some SERIOUS clearance issues with the motor and trans.

"would it be worth it"

for me, NO WAY. If you want to be different, go for it. but that is MAJOR work.

it may be easier to bolt all your gm stuff to a gm frame, then bolt your cab/bed on top, rather than adapt all the gm stuff to the ranger frame.

either way, i say go for it :headbang:
