Has anyone used or experimented with using a cheap computer chip for their 2.3? There is this one company on ebay that has one for like 30$ and it claims like 40 hp gains. I HIGHLY doubt that will happen but im not looking to get 40 more HP just looking for a few more. Its called Magnum. any help?

Most of the $30 chips are nothing but a resistor that you put in the MAF wire, fooling the computor in telling it it is cold out.The computor will "learn this" and revert back to baseline.A Jet chip will work a lttle bit,we got 6 hp out of ours but it was all at over 4200 rpms, not worth the $300 they want. The $30 chips are on the same shelf as the tornados

Ebay Chips Are The Worst. Don't Waste Your Money!!!

yea a friend of mine did an ebay chip on his dakota. the resistor on maf and it didnt do ****. waste of $20. my brother paid $300+ for a chip from summit racing and felt a small increase but like previously said, not $300 worth of power. heh.

i wonder with all the hype on chips in the import market why it seems that there are not many avalable for the 2.3 or will the computer chips or computer upgrades for the imports crossover and how much time and work is actually involved for the tuning options that you will gain

well the chip my brother did just plugged in. but i know shops would put alot of time into tuning map and air/fuel and shit like that. dont ask me how they do it and how much power it gets because i havnt got around to doing it yet.
