I'm still going through the laundry list of things for my poor MPGs (standing at 18-19 right now) and slightly low idle (550 or so?). In looking over my vacuum lines I can't find a Canister Purge Solenoid anywhere. Between the intake and the canister is a long, plastic line with nothing on it, and I don't see anything going between the canister and the fuel tank. Do 93's not have one?

That system was mandated by OBDII in 1996.

There should still be one, even my 91 had one. It must have been removed.

Is there an empty harness/plug on the inner fender.

I've looked around and can't find any empty harnesses. Does have a pic of where yours (and accompanying harness) is at?

The only other odd thing is that I don't get any codes thrown, so maybe I really don't have one?

Sorry, I don't have any pics.

On both trucks the solenoid was located about 2"-4" behind the charcoal canister.

You'll only get a code on an OBD 2 ECU. Your ECU doesn't monitor that system.

I think it's doubtful that it never came with one, otherwise your fuel system would be subject to constant vacuum(like it is now). Definitely not good for fuel economy.

As a test you could plug off the vacuum tube on the throttle body as well as the line on the canister just to see if your fuel economy gets better.

On my 91 that's what I've done, & my canister is just venting to atmosphere.

Huh.

Schematic shows that Cannister Purge Solenoid plug will have GY/Y and R wires.
