Hey guys. I know there are some other posts on this P0306 cylinder 6 misfire error code, but I wanted to bring it back up to see what the logical order would be to seek out the root cause...

The code popped up a while back, so I replaced the fuel filter. That didn't help. I replaced the air filter, plugs, plug wires and PCV valve - those didn't fix it either.

I've seen other suggestions such as...
1. check the coil pack
2. fuel injector
3. EEC

How do I diagnose the coil pack and the fuel injector? The EEC hasn't been flashed since it was built, so would it do me some good to get the PCM reflashed? According to motorcraft there have been 5 or 6 updates since the PCM was made. How much does something like this typically cost?

Thanks.

i wouldnt bother w/ the reflash unless its necessary per ford. coil pack is easy, pull the plug and see if she fires. if it misses or doesnt fire, theres your problem. if it does fire then id look into having the injector cleaned/changed. if you still have these issues then take your trk to ford and see what they say bout the computer being reflashed.
