my plans to go to sand lake and ride were cut short cuz my buddies both blew up their quads before i could leave oregon city :annoyed:

so i figured i would do some close by wheelin. so far it is just 2, maybe 3 trucks going. we are meeting at fred meyers in clackamas at 10:30. i don't know my way around goat mt. that well but thats why i wanna go. i got some maps and i just wanna explore "my backyard" if you will. :icon_thumby:

I know its a little... really late but i'm bored as hell so here is the pics from the trip. it was my cousin in the toyota, my buddy in his jeep, and my BII. They were dragging me up the trail cuz they were runnin 35's and my 31's kept getting stuck.... held back...:D in all the ruts. No broken rigs or bones so all in all it was a good trip. Enjoy a little 4x4 porn :D

My cousin bought it last October. not sure where it came from but it was somewhere close to Oregon city so maybe sandy/gresham. the dude he got it from only had it less than a week. that thing is a beast. 35's, mini spool rear, body lift only (i think) 3.0L (with a knock from hell!) we were trying to blow the motor this trip but that thing is a tank. it is WAY too light in the rear end and it bounces all over the place with those balloons.

Mapquest Goat mountain, colton, or. beware that supposedly federal marshalls are patrolling for wheelers and other mischievious characters. my dad got popped for just chillin but drivin without a license up in the middle of flippin no where. we always go out Hillockburn Rd. I don't know that much about the trails up there but we spent all day on like 2 trails. I need bigger tires for sure. I bet it is mostly snow wheelin after the snow this week.

So, if the LEO's are up there, then it is illegal to wheel there I would assume. Otherwise I don't think they would be there.

It looks like fun and all, I just don't support illegal wheeling at all.

I don't know dude, really. everyone says it is but EVERYONE i talk to, in high school, my dad and his friends all grew up wheelin up there and in high school we all wheeled up there. there is like miles and miles of trials. I still hear almost every week of ppl rompin around up there over the weekend. growing up we always went up there in the snow playin and wheelin and what not. I'm with you, I don't want to get into trouble for having a good time and don't wanna make new trails. I like what they have up there, it's challenging but not ridiculous.

BTW what is LEO? i'm sure i'll know once you tell me.

so far the only infractions i heard of was my dad without a license, and someone got popped for target practicing his guns and carrying a sawed-off shotgun and one of the guns had the VIN# sanded off. Haven't heard of any wheelers getting busted yet.

OIC yeah. You would think that if they didn't want us on the trails it would be more cost efficient to place boulders or dig holes on the trailheads and what not right? after looking around online a bit i can't find notices or anything to say it IS illegal... dude you got me all freaked out now ha ha

Ah, it might be a legal area then. Did you find any info saying WAS legal? And yes, LEO is Law Enforcement Officer

It took what you said as they were up there busting people for wheeling or something.

EDIT: you're right, there's nothing to be found about it being illegal there. But I can't find anything that says it is legal though either.

Hey I just moved to the Oregon City area from Lousiaiana and would love to go exploring out there. If someone would be willing to give me a ride that would be awesome. I just want to experience it and see what it's like.
