Is this normal? I put on the 4 ways they work fine then i hit the brakes and the 4 ways just stay lit, then when i take my foot off the brakes they work again. What could cause this? its an 86 ranger 2.0

Actually this is perfectly normal, they stop and go solid when you put your foot on the brake.

I spent about half an hour looking over the wiring diagram for it and I was starting to get the feeling that it works that way. Thanks for the help.

I had just noticed the same thing on my '92 Ranger with 2.3L. I was beginning to assume there was botched wiring somewhere, but I'm glad to know that's just how it works.
