Just swapped a manual transfer case in place of the electric shit model. The truck is a 98 ranger and the manual t case came out of a 95 ranger. The 98 tcase has an 8pin connector and the 95 has a 4 pin connector. Is there any way to use the old harness of the 98 and splice it onto the 95 so the 4wd lights work?

please help,

Brandon

On a truck with a manual case there is a 2 or 3 wire connector that wires into the t-case and goes up through the floor board into the dash. Basically follows the same path as the e-case wiring. There is someway to use the old e-case wiring to make it work, but to what wires to splice, I have no clue. A wiring diagram may be useful. :D

I went the easy way and snagged the wires with the manual case.

1/2 way there

i can go back to the truck i pulled the tcase out of and get the wiring up through the cab. Will it connect to the 4wd engagment lights the same? I basically would like the lights to turn on in 4high and 4low just like it did with the electric unit if possible.

I might be able to get you the diagrams as I was attempting to solve this very problem on my truck.

It looks as though you'll need to splice the signal output wires into the 4x4 module; however, after that I haven't figured out what needs to be done. At some point, the 4 wheel drive switch needs to be bypassed as well.
