Hey, that's awesome. I cant wait till their in production. Our fleet at work will always have many Taurus' as long as ford makes them. Cant wait to test the TT ecoboost!
Almost looks like they took the dip on the hood from 08 and popped it out the other direction. Lookin good.
yeah ...... like any of us can afford a $60,000 Taurus, on a side note, I was at Chrysler today and seen a new Charger with a 6spd on the showroom floor ........ $44,000 as it sat with the 6spd and 6.1 hemi.

Funny how they are literally raping us for this fuel economy though...I liked the original SHO Taurus...I sat in one the day I bought my Tempo and thought "gee, if I was a bit wealthier and had a family, this would be my car"...
I had a neighbor a few years ago and her friend drove up in a 92 Taurus SHO...she was saying her husband wanted to scrap the car because they always had problems...I just about jumped on her and told her to keep it in her barn for a few years because they were rare...they pulled the For Sale sign off of it the last time I drove by...not sure if they sold it or what, but I wanted to buy it off them myself...it was in mint condition other than the squacking power steering belt that she was complaining about...

thats all....... I remember the 95 sho with a 5spd and leather coming in at $42,xxx.

1999 SHO stickered at $29k according to what I found.
I don't think $38k is THAT bad, the car is as big as a 7 series BMW, with the price of a 3 series.
I'm going to seriously look into getting one of these used around 2013.
And since this thread is seriously lacking of pictures...

If it's not real, it's pretty close. It's amazing what turbocharging, direct injection, and variable valve timing can do for a torque curve.
I'm just waiting for Dustin (rusty old ranger) to come on here and start going off about how his 2.9L could easily out tow this thing because it's just one of them gutless, no bottom-end torque, turbocharged, new-fangled engines.

Cool Engine.
But id still opt for a 460/4sp/4bbl if it was an option :)
Kind of an ugly body though....and yes...my 2.9 could pull it :P j/k.

I don't know what you were able to find on the internet but I remember looking at a 1995 SHO with a 5spd and leather at Newberg Ford in Newberg Oregon when I bought my last ranger (91 2wd reg cab short box 4.0L XLT) back in 1994 and the window sticker with destination and all the added crap it came out to $42,xxx.
paid $5200 for my ranger with 57,xxx miles so its not like they marked stuff up.

I'm not doubting you, but 15 years is a long time for memories to get a little skewed, heh. I can't see how ANY of those jellybean taurus' woulda sold for 42k in 1995. You sure it wasn't some kind of customized version?

I'm pretty sure the 89 that I looked at was close to or above $40Gs...but that was one of the first of the line so they might have been overpriced...and that was Canadian dollars so who knows...The 5.0 mustang was my second choice, didn't even think about the Turbo Coupe T-Bird...until after I read a magazine article about it being the fastest production car that year...

$38k for a 365hp twin turbo AWD sedan ain't that bad!
The new Subaru Impreza WRX STi starts at $34k and its only got 305hp and appears to be a good bit smaller than the new Taurus.
I love the look of the gauges in the Taurus! They look HOT!

No plans as of yet... Here in Europe we've got the new Focus RS which is turbo'd but its still only FWD. AWD is extremely popular in Ireland and the UK because of how big rallying is. It was dissapointing to hear how its only FWD but it will still MOVE! The diff design has supposidly more or less eliminated the torque steer that you normally get from high power FWD cars, and its supposed to be extremely fun to drive.
One of my good friends has a 1997 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Type R japanese import putting out between 310-330 AWD hp and its very rapid. I went to a car show on Sunday in which his car was entered and I rode up with him. The whole way back (three hours) we followed a friends new Vauxhaul Astra VXR Nurburgring Edition. (Vauxhaul is owned by GM, and many of the cars they produce are rebadged as Saturn in the US, so the Saturn Astra is the same car) That thing is only FWD but its turbo'd and its damn near as quick as the Subaru! When we'd race, it would pretty much come down to whoever shifted quicker. We had three people in the Subaru and a trunk full of water, cleaning supplies, ramps, etc, and he had 4 people in the Astra, so it was about even. I'd certainly rather have AWD any day but its actually pretty amazing how quick these modern FWD cars are!!

I think that looks HOT!! Expecially for a factory hot hatch! If it was AWD there'd be no question whether I'd rather have that or a new Subaru Impreza!!
One of my buddies was considering getting one of these. If he goes through with it I'll post pics/vids and keep you posted. His dad has a 2009 Ferrari F430 so its certainly a possibility! They've also got an 06 Scooby WRX STi... Personally I think he should just drive it but awh well, suppose the Focus would still be sweeett!

I think the red one looks like volvo. I do like the silver tho, and for the price it looks like a nice car. I just like the fact that Ford is getting more aggressive and bold with their styling.
