when did you change your originall sparkplug wires
I only ended up changing my wires at about 105 kms, I drove with a knocking engine for the longest time untill I finally changed them and knocking finally stopped.
I am approaching 97K miles with the original wires. However, I did order new ones for a 100K mile tune up and will be installing them soon. I changed the spark plugs at a little over 50K miles after checking them and seeing how bad they were.
Haven't needed to change them on the truck yet (less than 30k), but we just changed them on our chevy @ 115,000 mi., still had the originals on there. It started to shudder/surge at idle and the CEL was on (constantly), problem went away after an oil change, clean air filter, PCV and spark plugs/wires.
Changed plugs and wires at 100,000 miles. Tried E3 plugs...what a farce. Engine missed like crazy. Switched to Autolite because no one stocked Motorcraft, locally. Been running great, since.
Wires did (again) at around 150k. Plugs I just did today at 160k black_eye: from the last plug wire under fuel rail..good times).
I've had a faily decent miss at idle and at lugging speeds below 2 grand in any gear. new plugs seemed to help a little but it still does it. Used Motorcraft Platinum too. I just can't figure it out
I changed the plugs at around 90K and replaced with Motorcraft platinums. the milage has dropped of recently with no CEL so I'm thinking the OEM wires may be ready to change - 160K. What brands are you folks getting the best results with?
Danny
Thats what I wanted to get but Canadian tire was out of stock so unfortunetly I got Champions instead. The Bosch set were only a few bucks more and come with a lifetime warranty beats even motorcraft in my opinion.
