Has anyone ever put a true dual exhaust with any of the v6 motors(2.9, 3.0, 4.0)?

oh yeah....gives you 800 hp and v8 sound...scares the big blocks away.

on a serious note, its pretty common.

ive got 'em. i like 'em. sounds like a v6...but thats because it is. anyone that claims their v6 sounds like a v8 (with ANY exhaust) hasnt spent much time around v8's.

I agree with Wicked Sludge, hes rite, no matter wat type of exhaust u do, ur not gonna make ur v6 sound like a v8, plain and simple. My buddy has dual exhaust on his 3.0 L, hes got it set up with 2.5 inch diameter pipe, a Flowmaster Super 44 series muffler with dual outs and 2.5 inch diameter tailpipes with 3 inch tips, it sounds pretty good, its got a nice deep grumble to it, but you cant even compare it to a v8 with duals.

theres a lot of truth behind that.

i dont know my single is chevyish down low, after 2500 its a v6 tho. you just dont have the pressure from a v6 to make v8 w/ anything. not even open headers...lol

Remember to use a crossover pipe or a dual in dual out muffler incase one pipe becomes clogged or pinched shut. I did duals on my brother's 2.9L with a Magnaflow, doesn't sound bad for a 2.9L
