Problems after tune up

I just finished changing the plugs and wires (has eight) in the truck and everything came on great when I cranked it up. The problem I'm having is that the steering wheel now shakes when I turn it while stopped or at low speeds. I have also noticed that when sitting parked, idling, when I turn the wheel the engine revs a bit. Any ideas what my problem may be?

Year is 2000, 4 cylinder automatic. I did not take of the intake manifold to replace the plugs.

sometimes the power steering will become subject to air in the system. This causes the hop/vibe in the steering wheel (i think this is what i remember correctly). Pull off your resevior cap, check fluid level. If it is frothy like strawberry milkshake, then air is getting in there somewhere. If its good, then i dunno :D but that is a possibility. The engine revving is normal as the engine technically drives the pump to turn the wheels. The load of the pump will drop the RPM of the engine momentarily, so the pre-programmed engine idle will increase the idle to make up for the lost RPM because of accessory usage...in other words, its just the engine making up for the load of running the pump. :icon_thumby:
 
Thanks for the help. I checked the fluid and it looked just as you describe. I bled the lines and no more shake. It never did this until I changed out the plugs and wires. Is it just a coincidence that this problem came up when I did the tune up, or is there something that I may have done to cause it?

No way the plugs could of caused this. I would say that maybe you were just paying more attention to the engine compartment since you just did a tune up?

no prob man..i agree there is no way that the tune up caused this..unless you bumped a line or the dipstick of the power steering..the good news is its fixed though :headbang:
