Hi
It’s time to where I will need to start replacing worn parts on my 2005 FX4 extended cab Ranger. I will be replacing the front rotors and pads as well as the rear shoes. Are there any recommendations on the best rotors, pads and shoes to use. Thanks

From my past expearience all I can tell you is to get rivited rear shoe NOT apoxyed. Don't go cheap on your brakes.

I concur with the statement not to go cheap. Behind your tires, the brakes are the most used and important safety item on your vehicle.

For my '93, I use the Bendix Metallic brake pads. Bendix was OEM in '93, so I know they're engineered to work correctly. I only with Bendix made pads for my '01 Chrysler Sebring Coupe.

Regarding your rear shoe replacement . . . how many miles are on that truck? Have you inspected the shoes to see if they actually need replacement? I have over 250k miles, and am only on the second set of shoes. And yes, they still work. I had the ABS kick in this morning.

go to the dealer buy motorcraft. who knows your truck better than ford? you can buy hawk or ebc pads but for the rotors or drums ford knows who's best. if it lasted this long oem dont put junk rotors on it. It may be more money but is your family worth it? are you worth it? yea i work for ford. sue me
