93 Ranger transmission swap?

I have a 93 Ranger w/bad manual trans. The trans number is F27A UA. This t ruck has a 2.3l engine. I have found a good F57A CA out of a 95 Ranger w/3.0l engine. Will it work? Or do I have to change the cases and use my old case. Mine is the typical 3 rubber plugs leaked and ran out of fluid!! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Won't bolt up, bell housing bolt pattern is different.
Internals will swap if you are up to that.

There are a couple guys on here that sell and ship transmissions, at a good price.

3.0 only bolts to 3.0, 2.8 2.0 and 4.0 bolt up the same, 2.3 only bolts to 2.3. 2wd will not bolt up to 4wd, must have the corresponding unless planning to convert.

So you are teliing me that If I find a m50d r1 out of a 3.0 that it will work on my 4.0?

No.

They are telling you that 3.0L won't work. 2.8,2.9 and 4.0L share the same bolt pattern.
