oil Pan Leak 1994 4.0 L

What is the proper procedure for replacing the oil pan gasket on the 4.0 L motor with die cast oil pan? Does Ford sell a specific gasket for this replacement? I replaced the gasket once before with a Fel-Pro gasket with metal strip attached to the silicone gasket...I believe this was the wrong gasket. Any help is appreciated. Joe

My gasket is all rubber. Doesn't sound like you got the right one. Mine didn't have any metal on it.

Did you buy the gasket from Ford? Do you recall the brand (if not Motorcraft) and possible part number? I assume that the gasket slipped directly into the groove on the oil pan and was a one piece gasket...correct? Thanks for your help in advance.

Fel-Pro gaskets just stink. I refuse to buy them. Go through the dealer and just buy the motorcraft.
