I had to replace the case motor in my 5 speed 99 4x4 now every time I shift into 4wh at any speed I get a load crashing sound almost like it’s slamming hard into gear it works fine at that point and will shift out fine. I don’t get this noise when shifting at a full stop an sifts in an out of 4wl just fine. I don’t see anything damaged or anything jumping out at me.

any help is great

Why did you have to change out the old motor? The transfer case is supposed to spin up to speed with an clutch inside so when the shift takes place the front driveline is already spinning at the correct speed.

Your is not doing this anymore. Did any wires get cut or pinched when you were reinstalling the motor?

This is the first I have heard of this myself.
