Alright. you guy have heard me gripe about my pos a lot, but now its something else. today I noticed a clang when accelerating, decelerating and shifting. I pushed upwards on both driveshafts ant the u joints seem tight. Its worrying me cuz I had to use 4wd a couple days ago and it hasnt been driven since. I drove on pavement and Ive always heard to never drive on the road more than a half mile in 4x4. now today its clanging. What did i break? I hate this godd#%# piece of fu$^$*g s*&^. c&#$s#%ker. I should have bought a diesel. I wish ford would shove that lil 3.0 and my f*cking ranger up their c#^$s^$king a*$es :pissedoff:

EDIT: Nevermind guys. Last night the rear end exploded. Any one who read my other posts saw that i was complaining about piss poor acceleration and fuel economy. well everybody said regear to 4.56 and I started saving to have it done. I have, err HAD 3.73s and 32x11.50s. now I got373 pieces and 32x11.50s. Oh and the clanging? yea my driveshaft was coming loose from the slip yoke. Im talkin about LOOSE. two bolts were about 1/4 turn from falling out

So you drove with it in 4x4 on dry pavement?

It has the auto pushbutton 4wd and the pavement was covered with snow

Check your u-joints again. Set the park brake and put the trans in neutral.

Auto hubs or Manual?

Manual - Did you unlock them?
Auto - Did you drive in reverse in 2wd a little ways so that they unlock?
