Hey folks,

Anyone have a good suggestion on what to do with used coolant? I think I'm going to have to replace the thermostat soon (engine takes forever to come up to temp, and is still low even then), but have always shyed away from coolant-system work because I can't find anywhere to take the used coolant. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Check with some of your local auto parts store. O-Reillys, Autozone, Advance auto, and Napa; in my area do take used oil and coolant. Also check to see if your city offers a hazards material disposal place. Here in OKC, OK, they have one. Just bring a water bill for proof of resisdent and get rid of any hazards stuff you may have.

Chinamart will take it, at least they do here.:)shady

ya sucks here in my area no stores take it accept quick oil change places, but i found out my city will pick up any old oil coolant batteries paint etc, for free if you have trash service

You could always serve it to the stray cats in your neighborhood.

My old autozone wouldn't take it, but we recently moved and I didnt' think to ask at the new place - I figured they were all the same. Hadn't thought to try wally-world either. I figured the parts stores would be more likely to take it without complaint since they're not losing any business by me doing my own work (in fact, they're making money on the replacement oil, coolant, etc.)

Didn't think about municipality either... I'll look into that. Thanks guys!
