hello all

im david new here and my first post on this board. i have to say looking around i have found some great looking bronco's on here.

anyways i have got my first bronco the other day in a trade. but it is only the body. but i have 2 1979 ford full size 3/4 ton frames and drive tranes. no bodys on them. the bronco 2 is in great shape i think it is a 1987 i know it is a Eddie Bauer edition. does anyone know or have any tips on going about this idea? anything would help..

i am going to do this i was just looking for some pointers. i am starting my shop this weekend so i have a little time. i am not going to start this project untill prob spring unless i get done with my shop sooner (sooner i hope)
then all hell is going to break loose :icon_welder:

well i will try to get pics of my things soon
thanks for the help
david

ohh yea i am looking for a power stroke and a 6 speed trans if anyone hears of one..... yep going to go into my bronco2 yes i am nuts :icon_bounceblue:

powerstroke eh?

not a bad idea... would it fit though? the 3/4 ton frame and drivetrain wouldnt have a problem with it but id think it would be a tight fit under the hood.

yea it will be a really tight fit i think the wheel base diff is like around 30" or so i havent really measured exact yet. and for the motor i was thinking about cutting the fire wall and moving it back to fit the bigger motor. i am going to keep it street legal though so i will have my work cut out for me..

oh well everyone need something to do i guess :icon_thumby:

oh yeah a heck of a project. but i really dont see why it coudnt be done. anything can be done with enough duct tape baling wire and glue lol. were you thinking of stretcing the body out?

All I can add is definitely make LOTS of pictures... I wanna see this thing :)

i did have an idea of stretching the body out right behind the door and getting another set of doors off of another bronco 2 and turning them backwards to make it a 4 door. that would give me alot more room for passengers and junk when riding. plus i think it would look really cool looking

that it would an it would be for sure a one off

cummins 4bt... its been done before without much cutting

If you want a 6 speed alison, I can assist, shipping it might be a bitch though.

Ahh the 4bt

i forgot about that one.... also isent there a smaller detroit dieisel out there that would fit.. saw a youtube vid of one in an late 80s chevy pickup.

pm me a price/location on the ali....

powerstroke wont be too bad if you are willing to mod the firewall. actually, pretty easy.

if your staying under 37 in tires it will be real easy to street too.

maybe consider gong 3-4 inches forward on the front axle and mod the rear quarters for 3-4 inch rear slide...be pretty good wb at that point.
