I was thinking tonight. For those who have swapped 63" chevy leaves (88-98) into their ranger (yes, I realize it means moving the front hangers forward, like, 5-6") how much lift did it give you, and did you keep the factory lift block?

Just thinking out loud....

With the factory block, extended shackle and the 63" chevy swap I got just over 5" of lift. So they give around 1" by themselves i'd guess. Mine were out a 90 c1500 2wd and I took the thick overload out of the pack, it would have added about another 1/2" to the lift height.

Also for moving the front hanger forward, you can use 2 of the holes from where it was rivited to to line everything back up! Makes it a lot easier than most think. Hardest part was integrating the leaf hanger into the rear cab mount/ box mount. Nothing a zip cut and a welder don't fix tho.

I also find that they ride MUCH nicer than my previous explorer leaf set up.

realy? that set up rides better eh? I mixed the ranger and explorer leafs and unless im goin realy fast, or crawling, it feels like im driving a haywagon. How much time is involvedto pull this off? Like, a weekend?

It deffinatly rides better, the rear end of my truck used to bounce going over railroad crossings. I took me about 5 hours to do the swap from start to welding to paint drying.
