Not sure where this should have been posted, but as close to the area I suspect might be my troubles.

I've got an '89 Ranger X-cab 2wd that I just bought a couple of weeks ago. Has 112k on the clock. When starting off in drive, getting to around 20mph and up to road speed, there is a confusing to describe, droning hum that comes from underneath and toward the rear of the truck. No real vibration is felt, but you can kind of feel it/hear it in your head as you drive.

Could this be a rearend problem, a drive shaft problem, U joint problem or what exactly ?

u-joint or carrier bearing if it's a 2 piece driveshaft

Welcome to TRS btw

Yup, betcha it's a carrier bearing. Could be pinion bearings as well but not as likely.
