ehhh not really helping me too much lol

You just need to find a 4.0 5spd PCM from any 95-97' Ranger.

If you are using a AT computer the fuel injectors have a different operation strategy. The most you should notice though is a loss of about 1-2mpg.

What PCM are you currently trying to run this beast off of? What issues are you having?

he is currently running it off of a 4.0 auto computer, it throws about every trans code on the book but runs it ok. The thing that I am worried about is emissions, In New York vehicles 96 and newer need to be plugged into a computer to verify that everything is functioning correctly. Won't running a computer with a 1995 calibration toss a red flag up and make the inspection computer have a fit? Just need a calibration code out of a 1996 truck with a manual trans so we can order one, I believe that the calibration code is on the emissions sticker on the core support. the calibration code would be something like 5-57h.

i would think you would want a 96' or newer comp being that the engine you got is a 96' and OBDII. a earlier one would not likely allow the function of OBDII and using a scan tool. ya mite have to program the vin into the new comp with a scan tool, i some what remember when i was taking automotive computers a few years back and we had to put a new PCM in a 04' sebring or something and didn't input the vehicle vin and everytime we hooked it up to a scanner the computer didn't know what year ect it was and went crazy. after we entered the proper info, it worked like a champ. good luck to you :icon_thumby:
