Did a quick search and couldn't get my question answered.

I was planning on replacing my seriously cracked cooling fan this weekend. The manual (haynes?) wasn't really straightforward but that wasn't about to stop me. In the manual, it says repeatedly that the large nut holding the fan/clutch assembly on the pulley is left hand thread. But, on the fan shroud on my '95, it says "RH thread on fan clutch". Can anyone confirm this?

thanks, Scott

I just installed one on a 2000 3.0 yesterday and it was left hand thread

yes the bolts will be very tight, might need to use a longer pipe

I believe the 2.9's and 3.0's use left hand thread, but not the 4.0's.

Thanks for the info. Confirmed, 4.0L engine uses RH thread on cooling fan nut.
