I just installed 2006 Ranger seats in a 2001 Ranger. The problem is the 2001 sash buckle is different and does not lock with the latch connected to the seat. Do I have to replace the entire sash/buckle or can remove and replace just the buckle? Do dealerships sell just the sash buckle? I will probably purchase from a junkyard but not sure if they sell the buckle only.

Can you unbolt the ones off your 2001 seats and then bolt them onto the 2006 seat? Or Did you go to buckets from a bench?

I would hesitate to junkyarding for seatbelt parts, they are only really designed for one use there are only so many reasons a 2006 Ranger would be in there. Most reasons I can think of would envolve the seatbelt being well used.

Can I unbolt the 2001 seat belt connector and bolt it into the 2006 seats? No the underside of the 60/40 seats are very difficult area to locate and undo to nut/bolt that attaches to the belt connector.
Any possibility I can swap internal components on the female connector? I see next to the seat belt release button two screws. Maybe if I open up that portion I can do a swap?

You can get either end of the seat belts from ford. Do not attempt to exchange innards from one shell to the other... your safety (and your life) isn't worth it if it fails at a critical moment.
Most JY places will not sell seat belts for liability reasons.

The portion attached to the seat (entire assembly) I swapped. Turned out to be very easy. Entire swap probably took 30 minutes total.
Thanks for the feedback.

So you unbolted the whole assembly from your old seats and put them on your new ones?

Yes actually only needed to undo 1 bolt :)
