I own a 1995 ranger splash 4x4

That button on the end of the shifter will not push in or pull out. Should it . :icon_confused: it says o/d ive owned the truck for 9 months always wondered .

on your drive selector in your column it should say PRN OD D 321 choose od in that if its like my 93.

95 is electric shift its different than a 93 the button on the end of shift handle should be pushed in to cancel od and pushed again to turn OD back on.

i c, glad mine has the dif selector modes in the shift column. apparently his button is stuck then.

I pulled the shifter apart and the button was super glued in !!! I wonder why ! I always thought sence my truck was P R N D 2 1 I thought somone pulled it out of a nother truck .. So if I fix it will be like my moms cougar with her o d botton that shuts it on and off..

any Ideas on why it would be glued in !!

Just an idea, but I have a friend with an f150 auto. Anyways the previous owner had a problem with pulling the shifter towards themselves than selecting a gear. They would just force the thing down, which broke the end of the shifter. So maybe that happend and someone over glued the thing to get it back on there.

it probably slipped in overdrive/odoff. the previous owner may have glued it to hide the problem.
