Need Help Fast

I got a 99 Ranger 3.0 Auto, Im assuming its got a 4r44E. The OD off Light started Falshing and the Tranny Started to slip, i only went 100 more yards and shut it off cuz i was at work. I then drove 45 minutes to school and right before i got there the light started to flash agian but the tranny wasnt slipping, i shut the truck off and it hasnt happened since?? WTF is wrong with this POS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????

oh and the truck jumps and hops in reverse.

Probably blew out the valve body gaskets. Get the codes retrieved -- with a real scan tool, not a code reader as they won't get trans codes.

is replacing the gaskets or valvebody possible while still in the truck?? i havent done much work with trannies besides clutches and taking them out. i have a good mechanical sense though, i build engines for a living and im going to school to be a diesel tech so if its not to difficult i might tackle myself.

Yes, a valve body gasket can be done with the tranny in the truck. Wear safety glasses though. Dont want any ATF in the eyes.......
