I was wheeling today and got stuck so i shut my truck off and got out to air down the tires. when i got back in it, the clutch pedal felt soft and the clutch would not disengage. I just put a new clutch in it last month, and it worked great up till now. I think it might be the slave cylinder, is there anything else that would cause it to do this? any help would be great thatks

slave cylinder or mud in the pressure plate. with a soft petal sounds more like a slave cylinder to me tho. that how it felt when mine went out. check your slave cylinder fluid. it could just be low or need bleed. good luck

agree 100%. when you bleed it, park it on a hill with the nose of the truck as high as you can get it... mine wouldnt bleed enough till i did it.

if my clutch master cylinder goes, would that do the same thing? also is there a way i could check the master cylinder?

there is an access hole in the bell housing, feel inside with your hand and check for fluid, it may be very little, so check really good.

edit, sorry thats for the slave.

take the bolt out of the slave cylinder and put a regular bolt in place of the banjo bolt, take your fut and lightly press the pedal (too hard and youll blow the master seal), if it goes to the floor its prob the master cylinder, if it sticks up like a hard pedal its not the master.
