HI!... Well this weekend I decided to do the "BLINKER MOD" on my 2007 RANGER. As you know the newer Rangers only have a turn signal bulb in the front head light assembly. Well this mod turns the corner marker light into a turn signal as well. This mod allowing more visibility of your turn signals to other motorists.

Here's a few pics :

Here is the stock set-up from the factory on the D/S.

The BLACK/YELLOW (black wire with yellow stripe) needs to be cut. Make sure to leave enough wire so that this mod can be reversed if desired.

I used weather tight male/female electrical connectors for a cleaner look plus it would be very easy to return to stock later if I wanted to. The dead end of the wire got a opposite connector, and I simply used another connector to block it off. I then used some shrink tubing to make it water resistant.

Now I took the other end of the wire and tapped it into the PURPLE/GREY (purple wire with grey strip). This would be the bottom wire out of the 3 wires on the turn signal harness with the quick clip facing up.

It should look like this :

This is the finished product after everything was taped back up :

you say a bk/ye wire is cut . . . im assuming this is on the corner lamp D/S? according to my wiring diagram that is the ground for this lamp . . . i dont quite understand why you are doing this . . . why didnt you just splice a wire from the vt/wh wire on the turning lamp to the gy wire on the corner lamp? or am i missing something?

like here is my paint representation of the diagram that i got straight from ford, the red lines are the new splice without interupting normal operation of the circuits.

i just realized the error of my ways, lol this would work except that when you have the running lights on with no blinkers, the high circuit in the turn lamps would be lit all the time and when you hit the blinker the center would no longer work and only the corner lol. so in that case, you think you could explain a little better?

i can see how this could be done but one would be sacrificing the corner running lights and turning it only into a blinker by cutting the gy wire and spliceing in a new wire from the vt/wh to the gy wire on the lamp. but does yours still use the corner as a running light too?

I just did this on my truck today. It's an 02 so I should help those with the older rangers too. I found the info for mine on RPS.

They had a wiring diagram that really helped.

Here it is:

This information seems incomplete.

H.P. Freak is only showing the driver side lights and mentions the Black/Yellow and Purple/Gray (Actually Violet/White).

He doesn't mention the wires on the other side of the truck. My diagram is telling me it's Black/Gray and Gray/Yellow.

If I'm looking at that correctly, H.P Freak cut the side markers ground (Black/Gray) and attached it to the Purple/Gray (Violet/White) wire. The other side marker wire (Gray) was not cut.

However, the information from RangerRocker indicates that BOTH wires to the side markers were cut.

We need some clarification on this topic.
