F150 springs swapped in

I have a 92 ranger 2.3 long bed and was curious if it would work to swap the leaves and coils off of a 92 ford f150 parts truck I have onto my ranger?

The spring pack on the one side of my ranger has 3 leaves in it and 4 on the other when I got it...???

I think it either had one leave break and the PO pulled it out or they put in a odd spring pack for some other reason???

Any help is appreciated...
 
i think the f-150 pack it too wide, i believe they are 3" wide and ranger is 2.5
 
all rangers both 2 and 4 wheel drive are 2.5 wide.

I believe 2 wheel drive f150 are 2.5 wide
and 4 wheel drive f150s are 3 wide around 1991-1992...

I am curious about spring length and which u bolts to use... I didn't know what kind of a lift if any I should expect out of the f150 leaves...

Right now I do have a 2 inch lift block that was on the ranger when I got it and I didn't know if I would have enough lift to leave it out and still end up with a similar ride height or not. I use the truck alot for hauling loads of firewood from the woods up to the house and upgrading to the heavier springs just seemed like a good option if they would work.
 
Ranger leafs are 56" eye to eye and IIRC, 26" from the front eye to centering pin. To keep the axle in the same spot, you'll likely have to relocate the front (and maybe rear) spring hangers.

Which side of the truck had the extra leaf? Rangers are known for leaing to the driver's side since gas tank is also on that side, so the PO may have added another leaf to try to account for this.

passenger side has the extra leaf. It makes the rear passenger side sit a good 1.5 inches higher off the ground then the drivers rear.

This is the main issue for wanting to do the swap.

Would I be better off just spending the money for a set of springs instead of trying to make the F150's work?
 
You could pick a set of Explorer 4 door leafs that would bolt right in and give you about 1.5-2" of lift for probably $50. I'd do that instead, but it's up to you.
