I have plans on putting 78 F150 full with 44/9" in my 91 ex cab 4.0 5speed and I have a couple questions...
1) What are the differences between a full with and EB 44 as far as this swap goes?
2) Why do people get the coil bow?
I plan on making the coil mounts on the axle not as wide to be more like stock Ranger. Will this alow me to use the factor upper mounts and not have the bow?
Thanks for any info.

EB D44 is about 6" narrower than the F-150 D44. It is also lo-pinion and has smaller u-joints.

Coils bowing is generally from using larger than stock coils in the RBV buckets (coils not fitting properly). You have to either modify the RBV bucket so it supports the coil where it protrudes out of the top a bit, or swap to F-150 buckets.
Also, misalignment of the upper & lower mounts can cause it to bow into an 'S' shape.

I would move the buckets out off the frame an inch or 2 instead of moving the axle mounts in, you'll have less bodyroll this way.

Hope that helps

Also if you plan to run 79 axles the wedges on the axle where the raduis arm mounts is cast to the knuckle. So there for being the coits sit on top of the arms you can't move the coils inward on that axle. I think even if you got a pre 78 full width 44 you wold not have enough room to move the wedges in and elliminate coil bow due to the casting of the center section on the drivers side of the axle. You best bet would be to do what 4x4junkie said and move out the coil buckets and use some off the f150 your axles came from.
