When I bought my 97 ranger, it ideled very rough and would stall out, the guy i bought it from said it needed an MAF, as it was throwing codes saying it was bad. But i discovered that the maf was loose in the stock "air muffler", causing air to get past the MAF. So i went to the junkyard and got an intake tube, from an early 90's Thunderbird 3.8L coupe, and it fits great! the truck idels perefectly now an i am happy, i only payed 3 bucks for the intake tube :)

The stock-ish setup, missing the other half of the air muffler, causing air to get by the MAF, located inside the air muffler.

I used the stock piece that attaches to the MAF

that looks cool.. and different. I'd like to do something with my air box/intake but they are different in 93's and no one offers anything

someone told me that an aftermarket honda civic intake would work on rangers, but im not sure
