Are there any difficulties in selling and shipping parts to someone in Canada? How do you figure out the exchange rate? Is PayPal a good way to go?

paypal is a good way of going about it. I cant rember what they charge you for currency exchange, also paypals international "fee" is 3.9% vs the 2.9%

on used parts your dont have to pay any taxes, but on new parts you have to pay tax. so keep that in mind. and you have to fill out a forum at the post office. no big deal really. just make sure you get your shipping weight correct for shipping quotes, 1lb can really make a diffrence over 20lbs.

usps.com you can play with the shipping calculator.and see what I mean

So if I want $10US for something how to I know what to tell the buyer to send Canadian dollars? Do I just give them the US dollar figure?

I'm from canada... other then the points mentioned always tell your buyers that it is THEIR responsibilty for duty and brokerage charges, sometimes you get hit with that, and its just part of crossing the border.

I usualy do all my sales in US, paypal does currency exchanges, so a CDN can send us funds and i can take american funds and then swap them into CDN if i want, not a large issue, another note is customs can hold the package and shiping times may be affected as long as both parties are understanding of this its not a big issue!
