Getting some high mileage on my truck (2005 XLT 4x4) and i would like to put a stronger clutch in it anyways. No signs of slippage or anything like that yet...

From what i can find on the web is pretty nil.

You gents have any links or brand names...part numbers anything that can help me find something better than the default clutch to replace?

Thanks

Max.

Why do you want a new clutch if it's not slipping?

The plan was to add some stuff to increase the hp and torque. Plus it already has 100k miles on it. Thought i may as well add a stronger clutch.

the stock clutch will hold up to super and turbocharged engines...its plenty strong for any amount of power you plan on sending through the stock transmission. if you dont plan on a lot of high RPM clutch drops (drag racing) the stocker will perform equally well.

a lot of guys dont like the feel of some of the "high performance" aftermarket clutch kits as they tend to be very unforgiving on a daily driver.

i also agree i wouldnt change the clutch unless its showing signs of wear (slippage or chattering). its not uncommon to get over 200K out of an OEM clutch if you know how to drive.

Ah. Thanks. That is what i was looking for!

Ill just leave it until it shows signs of slippage.

Thanks.
