I have a 96 ex cab 2.3 2wd 5 spd manual that I might want to convert to auto in the near future. I'm guessing the parts I might need are the PCM from another 2.3 auto, auto trans w/bell housing, auto cluster w/tach, steering column w/auto shifter... am I missing anything else? The reason being is because I do a lot of stop "n" go driving doing anywhere from 20-45mph daily with stop signs/lights like every 1000ft from home/work and it's driving me crazy. Only drive a few highway miles. I even had my clutch replaced last march and it's giving me trouble shifting. Tired of shifting already. Though I know a lot of people prefer a manual . Just want to get some opinions on how much do you think the cost would be and would it be more trouble than for what it's worth?

Almost forgot. I don't know the exact mileage because my odometer broke long ago but I'm guessing anywhere from 170-185K

Personally, I think it would be easier to sell your truck and buy another 4cly auto. Its just to much of a PITA to swap not to mention working any bugs out.

You forgot Radiator and trans cooler, with lines.

I'd simply get another truck unless you are up for some wrenching (while you can't drive it). List it all over the place, specifying you want to trade for a similar truck.
