I just bought this Ranger a week ago and I have had many fords most with 4.0's. any way it was on Sat I was driving it after putting gas in it is was pretty low on gas I drove about 4 miles and it just stalled and wouldn't start at all. I pushed and parked tried to start it but it wouldn't once is did start for like a few seconds and then died. We went back next morning and tried again ti wouldn't start so we took of the fuel filter and fuel poured from both ends. put it back on and then he messed with the valve that is like an air release and it started. But here it is a few days later and it happened again and I can't get it to start.. I don't have a clue what it is. The parts guy at ford says it could be the IAC but I don't know maybe the fuel pump relay I can hear the fuel pump. I appreciate all the help I can get.

both relays(fuel pump and ecu) should click when you turn it to "on". they are on the pasenger fender wall. if you can hear the pump though, thats probably not the problem

sounds like it could be a bad fuel pressure regulator though. the diaphragm inside can break pretty easy. http://www.autozone.com/R,1598024/v...partType,00165/shopping/partProductDetail.htm

no sense in buyin stuff you dont need though so let some other chime in on this
