Has any one ran a fm146 behind a 4.0? The reason i ask is because im sick of not being able to drive my ranger. I need a new input shaft for my m5od, and money is tight right now, so i thought about using the fm 146 for a little while till i can save up enough for my input shaft. What do you guys think?

Oh yeah, if any one knows where to find a input shaft for a 2.9 m50d let me know.

well, thats where the m5od im rebuilding came from. They don't have anything that hasn't had the piss beat outta it.

as long as you drive it like a 2.9 it should hold out for a little while. maybe tape a block of wood under the gas pedal to keep yourself from romping on it :icon_thumby:

I plan on doing that until I can get my M50D... I'm hoping it lasts a couple weeks or so, lol..

Haha, i like the block of wood idea Wicked! Yeah hopefully it will last a little while.
What starter do i use with the fm146? And has any one actually done this?

Use all the 4.0 components (starter, flywheel, clutch, etc.) and.................cross your fingers:D

Won't the drive shafts be a different length??

Your are correct sir, I was thinking of the TK's.
