I am wanting to get a cab visor, the piece you can get that goes above the wind shield on the roof. There is one at the local auto wreckers, thing is, it has something that appears to be like a rivet holding it in. Its got a flat round head on it.
Anyone ever remove one of these before, does it involve tearing the head liner down ? I am going to try with vice grips, the BFH, and some punch/chisels tomorrow, if I cant figure out an easier way.

Here is an example of one....
Cab Visor Removal ?

i'm not 100% sure but it sounds to me like it's a cap for the screws that hold the thing on. my stepdad had one in a s-10 and it had chrome caps over the screws just take a small screwdriver and pry up on one and you can tell if it is one..:icon_cheers:

It may be a screw trim cap. Especially if the "flat round head" is plastic, try prying up on it. A lot of visors are installed this way- a regular sheet metal screw goes through a plastic cup, and then a trim cap is popped on after the screw is ran. Pry the cap off, and then you can remove the screw is how those work.

What they said... I had one for a little while, and it just had sheetmetal screws with little plastic caps.

Awesome, I was wondering if thats what they were, didnt have the time to monkey around with it as the wrecking yard was closing.
Do they help keep the sun out of your eyes, and do they make a difference in rain ?
Thanks for all of your help.
