I recently bought a 4 inch rough country lift for my 93 ranger and i was wondering if anybody has had any trouble out of one, and does it level out the front? And if it doesn't, could i use a 2 inch spacer for the coils?

If it's the new style kit you should be fine, otherwise you may run into clearance issues with the drop bracket for the passenger side beam. Some people say that some of the holes don't line up, but I've heard that about almost all kits, so I think it varies.

I wouldn't use a 2" spacer, in fact I doubt you'd be able to. If need be, I would use a few washers under the coils or factory F-150 spacers (both mentioned in the Tech Library). Due to the design of the TTB front axle, a 2" spacer would get you about 3" of lift. The 1" F-150 spacers net about 1.5".

I used that same kit... I welded some washers together to level out the front

Well if you've got 31s now, you should be able to fit 33s. You may experience a little rubbing though, depending on your backspacing.

Ive got the Rough Country 4" on my truck... wished i would've gone with skyjacker though :/ but the holes don't match up... but it does level out pretty well, it said you could fit 33's w/o rubbing, but how it looks on mine (93 w/ extra cab) i can fit 32's w/ no rubbing... prolly squeeze 33's in if i really wanted to, but i think you'd have to clip part of the bumper off...

Well, I have this same lift that I just bought and if you don't mind me hijacking a little, I have a couple questions.

I have the extended cab with the 2 piece rear drive shaft, do I have to lower the carrier bearing?

What did you do with you brake lines? I see that WisdoM has some new lines on, but do you have to run them? Will the stockers fit? I would like to get situated as best as I can before I go to put my lift on.

Thanks, and sorry for the hijack.

i have a 93 with the rough country 4 inch lift. the front drop bracket hit the front end when comperessed so i put a 1 inch spacer in the front and had to add a larger block in the rear. the shocks were also a little wierd so i ended up putting ranchos on. If you are just going to drive mainly on the road you should be fine the way it comes. and you will need new brake lines

Yeah I had to get new brake lines, the stock rubber ones were a lil on the short side.

How about the drive shaft?

Any more pictures with the lift on?

No I didnt lower the carrier bearing but I do have a little vibration,I could just replace the bearing and lower the cross member like in the tech library but since I already have a 1 piece drive shaft sittin in my garage I'll just swap it:icon_thumby:
