Anyone do a Bed swap?

I might have an offer to swap my 2002 step side bed for a 2004 fleetside, has anyone swapped beds before?
Anything i should look for? :beer:

You will need to swap the the filler neck also. Sometimes on different years they are different diameters. Also you will want to swap bumpers.

bumper?

yea, i figured the filler, but did'nt think about the bumper, but i have to check out the guy's bed, at least the trucks are the same color!

Bumper should be a tad smaller. He will probably want to trade bumpers as well. It's pretty easy. A few bolts and they pop right off.

actually, there is enough room in the filler to swap. and the bumpers are the same dimmension 6 bolts a few other things and its a done deal!

I have been looking for someone with a StepSide Bed to swap with my Standard bed but without success.
If you do the swap post some pics of interest if you can.

If the swap falls through but you still want a swap and are in the boston area let me know.

yes you are definitely going to need to swap filler necks, and bumpers. other than they everything else bolts up just fine. my buddy did this on his 97

May be a stupid question, but you do have a 6 ft bed right? 'Cuz if you have a 7 ft bed it won't work. You also need to swap tailgates.
