the party is for the kids, not you, and if you throw a party, its not up to anyone to offer to pay for it. if you want him to pay for half, call him and tell him that is what is expected of him if he is to attend. that being said, my sons mom has her own party and i have my own mainly because i dont want to be around her and dont want her around me. gently tell the kids mom how you feel and let her decide. she is the parent and you dont want to step on toes that if you break up she will have to mend alone.

I think him and his girlfriend should have their own party.

He can throw his own party, the last thing the kid needs is to witness any tentions between mom and dad or you and him. My ex when her kid had birthdays, she had her time with daddy and her time with us. Holidays too.

leave. i dont want to sound like an asshole, but she talks him up and puts you down, lets him come to the parties knowing it annoys you, etc. etc, she aint over him. my wife has the same say over my son as his mom does and anything less than that is a slap-in-the-face insult.

I'm gonna have to agree with the above statements... as hard as it is to hear I know, you should leave her. Respect is extremely important in a relationship and if you don't have that, what's the point?
